Arumí paints from a distance, skeptic and ingenious at once, passionately searching for realization in the spark of eternity contained in each instant. His is a gaze free from anecdotal details – he makes no concessions. In his paintings, all is one. The light makes the shapes stand out while human silhouettes merge with the background. These hazy figures are not the main characters – light plays the leading role, light and shadows shape them, relegating them to pure form. Through his prism, what is illuminated is no more explicit than what is hidden.
